Do bigger muscles burn fat?

Answer:
The more muscle you have on your body the more fat you burn, cardio only helps to loose fat and is especially good for your heart...lung's etc. BUT muscle burns fat as it takes your body way more calories to keep muscle than fat, and once you pump iron after your recovery period and when you sleep it continues for a way longer period of time, cardio unless very intense doesn't carry over for that long of a time, take some protein to help with the muscle and lift, you can burn lots of fat the more mussel you have!!!!! Hope i was of help!!!!! XXX p.s been there and i got ripped with no cardio just good nutrition and weight's...my cardio is running after my son...Take Care XXX
Yes. But keeping your metabolism up with aerobics burns even more fat.
No. But every pound of muscle requires about 50 calories a day. So if you had 10 pounds of muscle added to your frame your body, that muscle would require 500 calories.

This can be used as a metabolic advantage in weight loss.

So, in a way yes. Technically, no.
yes u need to exercise to maintain ur muscles so u r indirectly burning ur body fat.but make sure u must sweat a lot.
Couple things. Yes bigger muscles will burn more calories but the person who said each pound burns 50 calories. Its more like...8-10 calories. Also, weight lifting burns MORE fat than aerobic exercise because of the after burn. In order for your body to cope with the *** kicking you gave it, your body tries alot harder to repair the muscle fibers, which in return burns more. Its really the after burn affect. With cardio however, the burning is ONLY done while doing the cardio.

If you are doing HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) your body burns more calories from the after burn.

Lift hard. On days your not lifting do HIIT. Do some more research on it. It burns a hell of alot more calories than conventional 30-60 mins long boring cardio.

Hope this helps.
Yes, absolutely! Big muscles burn more calories, just as a big engine burns more gasoline.
